Local students support children’s hospice

A group of students from the Lakes College have donated over £800 to support the work of Cumbria’s only children’s hospice.

On Wednesday 20 March, a team of eight Travel and Tourism students completed the 7 mile walk from the college to Whitehaven in aid of Eden House Children’s Hospice. Earlier this month the students presented the children’s hospice with £870 raised from the sponsored walk and cake sale held at the college.

The fantastic amount of money raised by the students will support Eden House’s dedicated team of nurses provide physical and emotional care to children, young adults and their families with life limiting illnesses.

Emma Marshall, Eden House Fundraiser, said “Eden House would like to thank all of the students at Lakes College for raising an amazing amount of money for the children’s hospice. The support and generosity of the local community allows Eden House to care for children and young adults from throughout Cumbria.”
