Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s a hospice superhero! Join #TeamEV

Starting this summer a brand new team of superheroes will begin to sweep across North Cumbria, each of them raising money for Eden Valley Hospice.

Unlike Superman, Spiderman and Catwoman, Team EV superheroes do not need to possess superhuman powers. All that they have to do is raise money and support their local hospice.

Throughout 2013, Eden Valley Hospice will be hosting a variety of challenge and sporting events, from a cycle ride to skydives, giving the local community the perfect opportunity to become a Team EV superhero. Every fundraiser who undertakes their very own challenge in aid of the Hospice will receive an exclusive running vest or t-shirt emblazoned with the Team EV logo to wear at their chosen event.

Katrina Sander, Community and Events Fundraising Manager, said “After being inspired by the success of Team GB at last year’s Olympic Games, Eden Valley Hospice is proud to launch Team EV. The group will unite and support all of the fundraising superheroes who take on a sporting challenge in aid of the Hospice and the exclusive vest and t-shirts will make our superheroes stand out at their event.”

If Eden Valley Hospice does not have an event for you in 2013, the Hospice is encouraging people to take on their own sporting or challenge event. Whether it is a half marathon run or a fundraising walk in the Lake District, everybody has the potential to become a Team EV fundraising superhero.

Release you superpowers in aid of children’s hospice

Cumbria’s only children’s hospice is encouraging people to release their inner superpowers and fly through the skies.

On Sunday 25 August, Eden House Children’s Hospice is hosting their very first very first Zip Slide event in the picturesque location of Muncaster Castle. The children’s hospice is now encouraging people to release their inner superhero and sign up for the event during Children’s Hospice Week.

Between Friday 26 April and Friday 3 May, people throughout the country celebrate the amazing work and care provided by children’s hospices in the UK, including Eden House Children’s Hospice. What better way to show your support this year than by signing up for this once in a lifetime opportunity?

Janet McGreevy, Eden House Clinical Sister, said “Throughout Children’s Hospice Week Eden House is encouraging people to become a children’s superhero and support the amazing care provided by Eden House’s dedicated team of nurses. The Muncaster Castle Zip Slide event is an exhilarating way to show your support for Eden House.”
