With the nights getting longer and the summer sunshine finally here, a local hospice is encouraging fundraisers to sign up for their ladies only event, the Ultimate Pyjama Party.

On the longest day of the year, Friday 21 June, friends, family and work colleagues will come together at Carlisle Racecourse and make a huge difference to Eden Valley Hospice. The action packed evening will be filled with pampering, live entertainment and culminate in the 10km walk through Carlisle.

At 9pm, as the sun begins to set around the city, hundreds of women will begin the fundraising walk through the city centre, with walkers passing the Hospice for the very first time. The walk will be the perfect end to a memorable evening for not only Eden Valley Hospice but for all of the fundraising ladies taking part.

Local businesses support Hospice event

Fundraisers at Eden Valley Hospice’s Ultimate Pyjama Party will be able to indulge themselves with beauty treatments, food and fashion courtesy of a host of local businesses.

On Friday 21 June, hundreds of women will come together at Carlisle Racecourse for an action packed evening of fundraising, pampering and live entertainment in aid of Eden Valley Hospice. The local hospice is now encouraging ladies of all ages to sign up and support the Hospice’s dedicated team of nurses.

Before the ladies take to the streets of Carlisle in the 10km PJ Parade they will be able to immerse themselves courtesy of a number of local businesses. Including beauty treatments with Jibe Hairdressers and Emma Clegg Nail Technician, or they can receive a souvenir of the night by having their picture taken in a photo booth, courtesy of Ian McCrane Photography.

Award winning band to play at Hospice Event

An award winning band, which featured in Emmerdale’s 40th Anniversary show, will be entertaining the crowds at Eden Valley Hospice’s ladies only event this summer.

On Friday 21 June, Hip Operation will kick start the evening of entertainment, pampering and fundraising at the Ultimate Pyjama Party. The band, who have been named the UK’s best wedding entertainment for 2012, have performed for a range of famous people including Alan Shearer and Declan Donnelly.

Steve Dolder, Band Manager, said “The band are particularly excited about this one, we have been involved in almost every scenario but a hall full of ladies in pyjamas is a first. It’s going to be great fun.”

The pyjama themed evening promises to be a memorable night of fundraising in aid of Eden Valley Hospice. Hip Operation will get the Ultimate Pyjama Party started with a wide variety of music, including The Jam, Queen and Cee Lo Green, before hundreds of women will make a real difference to lives of local people by taking part in the 10km Pyjama Parade through Carlisle.

System IT superheroes to take on Hospice challenge

A team of fundraisers from System IT, Carlisle, will release their inner superheroes and fly through the skies in aid of a local hospice.

On Sunday 26 May, Mike Denovellis, Adrienne Gibson, Amy Hyde, Kathryn Lahey, Laura Prudham and Lee Gardner will take on the annual Zip Slide event in aid of Eden Valley Hospice. For the first time this year Hospice fundraisers will take on this exhilarating challenge at Brunton Park.

Mike Denovellis explains “We have all been looking at doing a charity challenge for a while now and the Zip Slide sounds like a great event. Eden Valley Hospice is a local charity which the whole group can relate to. I have seen first hand the care provided at the Hospice as my mother in law passed away at Eden Valley Hospice.”

The group of fundraisers are now hoping to overcome their fears and release their inner Superman and Wonder Woman and take on the 1,000 foot Zip Slide in aid of the Hospice.

Adrienne Gibson said “The biggest challenge for the group will be getting over the fear of heights and getting to the top of the crane. Then it will be stepping off the platform. Our target is to raise £600, but we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to support Eden Valley Hospice.”

Marathon challenge for Hospice fundraisers

Are you inspired by the thousands of fundraisers pounding the streets of London every year? A local hospice is encouraging people to enter the public ballot for the London Marathon 2014 and join the thousands of fundraisers.

Eden Valley Hospice is searching for members of the local community to join their Team EV superhero fundraisers by taking on the 26.3 mile challenge in aid of the Hospice. The public ballot for next year’s marathon opens on Monday 29 April.

Katrina Sander, Community and Events Fundraising Manager, said “The London Marathon is an iconic event in the British sporting calendar and it would be fantastic to have a group of Eden Valley Hospice fundraisers taking part. The Hospice is encouraging everybody who wants to take part to be quick as the ballot is expected to close on the first day that it opens.”

World Book Night celebrations at Hospice shop

A local hospice is inviting the local community to join their World Book Night celebrations at their bookshop in Carlisle.

On Tuesday 23 April, Eden Valley Hospice’s bookshop will be hosting a full day of promotions, offering people a brilliant way to support the Hospice and celebrate World Book Night. The shop, located in The Lanes shopping centre, stocks a wide range of books which have been generously donated by the local community.

To celebrate World Book Night, which aims to raise the profile of reading, the store will remain open until 6pm and throughout the day Eden Valley Hospice will be offering customers a special 3 for 2 offer on all books. Meanwhile, between 4pm and 6pm the Hospice will be providing all customers with light refreshments to celebrate the evening of reading and a very special prize draw.

Hobbycraft store supports children’s hospice’s cupcake party

Staff at Hobbycraft in Carlisle will be supporting the very first Cupcake Party in aid of Cumbria’s only children’s hospice.

On Friday 26 April staff from the store will be visiting Eden House Children’s Hospice to help the children, nurses and volunteers to rustle up a variety of tasty treats to celebrate Cumbria’s biggest cupcake party.

Dawn Irving, Hobbycraft Store Manager, said “Everybody at Hobbycraft in Carlisle is proud to be supporting Eden House Children’s Hospice as they take part in this year’s Cupcake Party. In recent weeks we have hosted a Butterfly Craft Party to raise money for the children’s hospice and the fun will be continuing on Saturday when we hold a superhero themed party as part of Children’s Hospice Week.”

The local children’s hospice is now encouraging everybody to get into the kitchen this April and cook up a range of tasty treats for Eden House’s very first Cupcake Party.

Soft play centre joins hospice Cupcake Party

A soft play centre in Carlisle will be joining Cumbria’s biggest cupcake party in aid of Eden Valley Hospice.

On Friday 26 April, Aztec Soft Play is inviting children and adults to join them at their Cupcake Party in aid of the local hospice. Whilst enjoying an action packed day at the soft play centre people are able to indulge in a variety of beautiful cupcakes and raise money for Eden Valley Hospice.

Lynn Steadman, Aztec Soft Play owner, said “Eden Valley Hospice is a very worthwhile cause which we feel we would like to support in any way we can. The Cupcake Party is a great new idea and I am sure our chefs will be extra creative on the cupcakes for that day. Lake District hotel joins children’s hospice Cupcake Party

A Lake District hotel, which is celebrating 35 years of the McGuire family ownership, will be joining Cumbria’s Biggest Cupcake Party in aid of a local children’s hospice.

On Friday 26 April, The Bridge Hotel in Buttermere is inviting people to join them at their Cupcake Party in aid of Eden House Children’s Hospice. For just £2 people are able to enjoy an exquisite cupcake and a cup of tea or coffee in the beautiful surroundings of Buttermere.

For one night a lucky Eden Valley Hospice fundraiser and their friends could be enjoying a reem evening at one of Essex’s most famous nightclubs.

Every lady who signs up for the Hospice’s Ultimate Pyjama Party, which takes place on Friday 21 June, will be automatically entered into a raffle to win an exclusive night at The Sugar Hut in Brentwood. The club rose to national fame as the popular night spot on ITV2’s hit television show The Only Way Is Essex.
