Hospice Annual Grand Draw winner to be announced in a week’s time

Despite the cold autumn weather, Eden Valley Hospice are set to brighten up one lucky person’s day in just over a week’s time.

On Friday 15 November, the Eden Valley Hospice Annual Grand Draw winner will be announced and they will be the proud new owner of the gleaming, white Peugeot 208. The local hospice are encouraging people to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to be in with the chance of winning the car.

Ally Duncan, Hospice Lottery Manager, said “The Annual Grand Draw is a great way for the community to support the work of Eden Valley Hospice, as well as to be in with the chance of winning a new car for just £1.”

“Every year, the Annual Grand Draw raises tens of thousands of pounds for the Hospice, so thank you to everyone who has returned their tickets so far. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, you can purchase them from the Hospice, in one of our charity shops or at any of the locations the car will be visiting this week.”

All of the money raised from the sale of the tickets will help Eden Valley Hospice’s dedicated team of nurses and specialist doctors to care for and support local adults and children with life limiting illnesses.

During the coming weeks, the eye catching Hospice Annual Grand Draw car will be visiting and selling tickets at ASDA Kingstown, Sainsbury’s at Caldewgate and The Lanes Shopping Centre, where the grand draw will take place at 3pm.

Hospice support amazed to win £1,000

A woman from Carlisle has scooped the weekly grand prize in Eden Valley Hospice’s weekly lottery.

Earlier this month, Samantha Salmon, originally from Newcastle, picked up the £1,000 prize in the Hospice’s weekly draw. For just £1 per week, thousands of people throughout Cumbrian support the Hospice by playing the lottery, whilst being in with the chance of winning one of the 76 weekly prizes.

Samantha, who only began playing the lottery earlier this year, said “I feel amazing, thank you very much. I registered for the lottery in the Co-Op because a Hospice canvasser was in the store at the time. I signed up because Eden Valley Hospice is a good cause, I never thought that I would win.”

Every week the Eden Valley Hospice lottery raises over £5,000 to support the physical and emotional care provided by the Hospice’s dedicated team of nurses and specialist doctors.

Hospice supporter delighted to win £1,000

A delighted and amazed lottery winner has donated a proportion of his winnings back to Eden Valley Hospice after he scooped the weekly grand prize.

Earlier this month, Richard Hall, from Stainton near Penrith, scooped the £1,000 prize in the Hospice’s weekly lottery draw. For just £1 per week, thousands of people throughout Cumbria support the Hospice by playing the lottery whilst being in with the chance of winning one of the 76 weekly prizes.

Richard, 88, said “I am delighted to win the £1,000, I have never won anything before. By supporting the lottery I feel like I am making a contribution to the future care of others.”

The Eden Valley Hospice lottery provides the local community with a fantastic way to support the care provided by the Hospice’s team of nurses and specialist doctors. Richard decided to join the Hospice lottery after witnessing first hand the care provided by the local hospice.

Richard continued, “I chose to support the Hospice as I have had relatives who have been patients at Eden Valley Hospice and they were exceptionally well cared for and looked after. I will be sending a donation back to the Hospice once I have received my cheque as my wife and I have everything we need.”
